Did you know that 2013 is the year for the color Emerald? Well, according to Pantone it is:
Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, is the Color of the Year for 2013.
The color experts over at Pantone have selected lively emerald as the "it" color for the year - inspiring designers to find ways to incorporate it in to their newest creations. No doubt you've already seen the eye-catching jewel-tone green make a big appearance on the red carpet, and pop up all over your Pinterest feeds, too!
Emerald Inspiration in Seattle
Finding emerald inspiration beyond the color swatch is easy here in Seattle, the "Emerald City". We're surrounded by lush pine forests and green is everywhere. Don't look now, but I just spotted a bit of mossy inspiration growing on my house! These lively greens are a nice consolation prize to the wet winters we experience. I was excited by the announcement of emerald as "Color of the Year", since I can pull inspiration for new pieces just by looking out the studio window, or by hiking my favorite path. This inspiration made its way into my donation to the 2013 Pratt Fine Art Center Auction. A new bangle makes its debut with this jewelry set and features curling fronds like the ferns I see growing in our forests.
